In order to have a blog or website, you need a good host and platform. A host is a company that houses the servers needed for your website to run.
A platform provides the tools to support your blog. An example of a platform is Wordpress(.org). There are also all-in-one companies that provide both the hosting and the platform for you to build your site, and we'll discuss them later, but one example is Wix.
🌻 Tip: If you’ll picture your blog as an apartment unit, then a host would be the building (the host company allows your blog to take up storage space and data within one of its physical servers). So, without a host, your website cannot be accessed. A good host will provide excellent security, performance, and support. You can also self-host, but I don't really recommend it for beginners.
